Scare tactics maybe for new people like me? Must say that doesn't work on the advertising on cigarette packets in australia in stopping people from smoking and they are much more graphic on what they show. People ignore what they want to ignore. I would have preferred to see positive things or at least way's to help improve things rather than just negativity. I'm working on getting rid of my addiction and could have done without the downer video.

Hey Dave. It is good to see you writing once again. Glad to see you weren't washed away in the floods. I hope everything is going great for you and that you and your family are all well. Write more often and take care.

I concur with Lin, Gemm, LarryZ, Lizard1320, sheets and I'm sure with many other whose comments are yet to be made, that this video is pointless to all members of this COPD group.

To allay Lins' fears about being barred from the site, I don't think that this will be necessary, as I for one will be voting with my feet!

I've not been on the site recently, a cousin of mine an elder by less than three months who didn’t make his 62nd birthday having had COPD that, like the 50% of us with this horrible condition who know that our condition will occasion lung cancer then other soft tissue cancers (liver, kidneys et al) and like the father of a close friend who's father has yesterday been admitted to a Haven to live out his last weeks, days, hours who knows??? the cancer having metted to his brain, his 40 something daughter applying for a power of attorney to legally take over her dads “affairs” a video of this poor man graphically showing us and others watching this site…some like “ghouls” doesn’t benefit anyone.

Lin if you go, I go, you have my personal email address look forward to speaking in a more positive light than shown thus far on this forum.

On a lighter note; the weather in the United Kingdom continues to be foul, with widespread flooding; we will be hosting the Olympic Games very soon, primarily in the Capital London, but perhaps the “hosepipe ban” may be lifted by then. LOL

Breathe well friends.

And this tells me what that we who live with COPD everyday don't already know? Whether we ever smoked or not we all have to live with this every single day. We just lost our neighbor 2 doors down from COPD a couple of weeks ago, and it has really hit me hard. We also have a dear friend, more like a sister, now in the hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville who is stage 4 and on a respirator. I already know what is in store for me in the future so what was the point of this video?

Y'all want to kick me out for saying my piece go for it. I've been kicked out of places before for much less so have at me if y'all want. For those on Facebook, I've heard there is a COPD board there as well, though I haven't been to it, and many social sites also have boards for many support groups. Just start goggling and you can find many more.

HUGS to all.

Agree Lin. very negative and says nothing about living with COPD. As for being stupid to keep smoking is much more difficult to quit for some than others. Seems like an ataack on those who haven't found a way to quit yet.

What a horrible 'interview' to feature. What's the point of making this a Home Page feature? Sensationalism? Is that what your advertising and promotioin sponsors are demanding? No one sits around with a mask on, nebulizer or BiPap/C-Pap running and doing an interview while dressed in office attire, talking about being isolated and avoiding people. How many bad impressions are created, and how many COPDers are negatively impacted! Just because it was on YouTube and free to use doesn't mean that should occur. Shame on you. Respect for your members, better taste and mature judgement might be appropriate topics for upcoming staff meetings.
