COPD...SPOT ON LUNG, NOW LUMPS FOUND ON NECK!!!

Hello all, I hope you all had a very Health New Year!
It has been a little over 2 months now since a spot was found on my left lung, I have had 2 chest x-rays, and a CT Scan so far, still know nothing. I was referred to a pulmonary specialist and saw him yesterday. He had all my information from my pcp, he asked a few general questions then went on to listen to my chest and back, checked my throat. The Dr. then checked my neck and told me there were a couple of lumps in my neck, I was speechless! I never ever had any lumps in my neck. I asked him what it could be as I was not sick, he said we would find out when I have my chest CT Scan! What could these lumps possibly mean?? Has anyone ever had them? All in all I have to have yet another CT Scan and also PFT tests. I am so tired of going for scans,x-rays,tests and still know nothing after 2 months! I did have to breath into a tube, I had a 66% out of 100%, he said that was low.

I have been thinking about you. It is good to hear from you again. I can only imagine what it must be like to be dealing with all of this uncertainty over such a long period of time. But it's good that you and your doctors are being persisitent so that you find out exactly what it is that's going on with you.
I hope you are getting a lot of emotional support during this time from people you care about, and who care about you.
I know this is terrible ordeal to go through but, as Jeannie said, one you know what it is you can get a treatment underway.
Please keep us posted. You are in my thoughts.

Darly January 20, 2011 at 3:57 pm0 LikesThank you Gary, I have a whole lot of support from my partner, as for other family members I think they do not acknowlege that this may be something that is not good, they do not talk about it unless I bring it up, my sons all say that I will be fine, my eldest son seems like he cares a lot more than the others.
Oh well, we will find out tomorrow the results from the tests, hopefully will have an answer finally!

Thank you all for your prayers and support, prayer's really do work. The pulmonary Dr. told me that the nodule on lung may be a bit smaller, he thinks it all had to due with pneumonia I had, that was 2 months ago. I go for a CT Scan in 6 months!! I am so so happy to be so blessed.
I go Tuesday for a barium swallow as I have a very hard time swallowing, food, liquids always get stuck, sometimes I feel as if I am choking. It is to the point that I do not look forward to eating anymore. I hope they find out why! I have had GERDS for many years, I take prilosec once a day, prescribed. The heart burn is getting worse also, seems like I have it all the time. I am not looking forward to drinking that chalk, but, if it finds out what is wrong I will do it.

Hi Darly,
Sounds like your family is kind of in denial, hoping that if they don't talk about what's going on, it will just go away on its own. Or they may be afraid that they will upset you by saying the wrong thing. Or they are scared. Probably a combination of all of the above.
I am going to be thinking about you tomorrow. Please let me know what's going on when you know!

Thank you Jeannie! I am praying for the best but prepared for the worst. I think this long waiting is really getting to me, then finding out about the lumps. They do not hurt at all, I didn't even know they were there until the Dr. found them, they are on each side of front of neck, I feel them everyday hoping they will be gone. They do not feel small neither.
